St. Patrick's Day Frame

Last year the ladies from Eighteen25 posted the cutest St. Patrick's Day Printable.  I didn't use it last year, but I did this year and I love it!  I used a frame from Cut it Out.

I spray painted it a light yellow.  I wanted to give it a distressed look, so I used my husband's belt sander.  The only problem was that my son used it right before I did and was sanding a piece of wood that he spray painted green. Yikes!  Needless to say, my frame ended up with green on it.  I sanded the frame by hand, but kept some of the green on it.

I thought that it looked great!  The green on the frame make the words pop out even more!  It's hard to see the color in the picture, but it looks fabulous!

Pumpkin Brains Popcorn

Here is a quick and easy Halloween treat that taste so YUMMY!

It's a sweet and salty snack we like to call Pumpkin Brains!

First, pop some popcorn.  Any kind of popcorn will do.  Try to remove as many of the unpopped kernels as possible.   (No one likes to bite down on those kernels. )  :)

Now in most craft stores, you can find melting chocolate.  I saw that Micheals had some orange Wilton's melting drops.  Those work perfect!

Just melt them in the microwave.  I like to do it in 30 second increments and stir in between.  It doesn't really take that long.

It works best if you put the melted chocolate in a ziploc bag and cut a small piece of the corner of the bag off.  Then drizzle all over the popcorn.  (I have also melted the chocolate in the ziploc bag before, you just have to really watch it and knead the bag every 30 seconds.)

After the chocolate dries, bag up the popcorn and attach the label.  So quick and easy and super cute!

Here is the printable.  Right click and "save image as" to your computer then print.  Enjoy!

Christmas Planner

Every year I keep a master list of Christmas presents.  I have to or else I will forget something or someone!  I just can't remember everything now a days. :)

So I came across this really cute idea for a Christmas planner from the Sisters at Eighteen25 and I knew that I had to make my own.  You can head over to their blog and check the printables for the planner and the full instructions.  I did a few adjustments as I made mine.

I used a notebook that I picked up on clearance somewhere.  It's about 6 x 7 inches.  I covered the front with Christmas paper.  I tied the ribbons on the wire rings on the side.  I did this only to cover up the purple background of the notebook that I couldn't put paper on.  If you look closely, you can see the purple under the ribbons.

On the first sheet, I covered it with more paper and glued on a fancy envelope that I cut out using my Silhouette machine.  This is where my coupons go.

The second page has another envelope for the receipts.

Here's the tab that will take you to the master list.  No one is allowed to look here except me!  :)

As you can see, I glued Christmas paper onto the page that I attached the tab onto.  I just wanted to reinforce that page.

Here is my calender.  You can find the printable on Eighteen25's blog.

And here is my To Do tab.  I will put my different ideas down, recipes, lists, etc.

And last, but not least, I covered the back of the book as well!  This was such a cheap project because I had everything lying around!

Now for the fun part!  Shopping...
