Valentine Banner

Last year I made a Valentine Banner with my Silhouette.  Since I moved this past year, I had to find a different place to put it.  There were two places that I was considering.  The first one was my front entry way (which is the one that I chose) and the other place was my fireplace mantel.

I'm still in the process of decorating it.  I want to cut some vinyl and put some more Valentine decorations up, but it's a start.

I love reusing decorations and especially banners that take a long time to make.  Now to center all my decorations around my banner and it will look fabulous!

Happy Birthday Banner

We had the pleasure to celebrate 3 birthdays in our family on Wednesday, Sept 19th!
Briana, Devin (Briana's Son), and Tillison (Bridget's Son)

I had 5 minutes to make Tillison a banner before he got home. Totally a last minute idea, but it turned out great!
In my Word program I typed "Happy Birthday". Then enlarged it to 500 font size. Then went through each letter and changed the font to something fun and a different color. I printed it out on card stock. Punched out 2 holes at the top and threaded curling ribbon through the holes. Then trimmed the bottom corners at a 45 degree angle to make it look like all the other cute banners I have seen. It was so easy and the boys all thought it was so cool when they got home from school.

 Happy Birthday Tillison.

Valentine's Day Banner

So this Valentine's Day I wanted to make a banner to display in our home.

I found the templete on the Silhouette Online store.  It is called Hearts Banner Layered.  So I used my Silhouette machine to cut out the shapes.

I used various shades of pink and white paper and a cream ribbon to tie it off.
I love the way it looks with the pinks and whites!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Birthday Banner!

Can I just say how much I love my Silhouette machine!  I use it all the time.  The most recent time was for my son's birthday.  He turned 6 years old last month.  He was actually born on my birthday!  Crazy, huh?  There are so many birthdays that are shared in my family!

So, I decided to make a "Happy Birthday" banner for him.  It was a last minute decision, but so fun to make!  I used my machine to cut out everything and all I had to do was glue!  My son strung the ribbon through all the little holes.

I just loved this little cake cutout that I found in my "Silhouette Library".   I thought it added the perfect little touch!

I hung it right in our entry way, so everyone can see it when they walk in!  We kept it up for a few days.  Now every time we have a birthday, we can hang it back up!
