Valentine Rosette Balls

Don't forget to enter our GIVEAWAY for Rose Valentine Earrings!  They are super cute!

I wanted a simple, but inexpensive, Valentine center piece for my living room.  I've seen different rosette balls done with crepe paper and other fun types of paper.  Here are a few of the rosette balls that my boys helped me make.

I decided to use tissue paper.  First cut them into strips about 3 inches wide.  I only had white tissue paper, so we whipped out my stamp pads and added some color.  Nothing fancy, just a few fingerprints.  You won't see the fingerprints once you make the rosettes.

To make the rosettes, I tied a loose knot at one end.  Then twist and turn.  Hot glue the bottom of the rosette once it is formed.

Now time to make the balls.  This is the fun part for my kids!  We took some of their old homework and classwork that was already graded and crumpled it.  Several pieces of paper make a good size ball.  I used my hot glue gun to keep the papers together.

Now you can hot glue the rosettes onto the balls of homework.

So fun and easy to do.  Now I need to make a few more to fill my basket...

I added a ribbon around the plain white one because the more I looked at it, the more it looked like a ball of toilet paper.  Not cute!  So once the ribbon was added, it looked like a cute rosette ball...with a ribbon.  Go figure!  :)

I guess you'd have to believe them when they say, "The rosette ate my homework!" LOL! Very pretty! I host a weekly meme called Thematic Thursday. Each week has a theme and this would be perfect for this week's Valentine's theme.
